In this activity, we will be making a video to accompany some background music! (which is backwards, but it can be fun!) To start, watch Mr. Leeson's sample video: The Idea:Then watch this video explaining how to make your own! Please note: You don't need to use an entire song and make one as long as Mr. Leeson. A one minute video is just fine! Link to Ben Sound Royalty free music Share Videos with [email protected]Mr. Leeson's Messily Written Plan:Can you guess why its slightly crumpled? Please note: You don't have to use fancy music terms like I did. You could totally label something "the big spooshy section" and if you know what that means its fine! If you do know some music terms, try using them! Considerations:Watch the video below and then use the link Song Maker link underneath the video!Send submissions to [email protected]. If you are using a sd61learn email account, send it to [email protected] instead! Click here to access the Song Maker MelodyIf you have a keyboard or piano at home, you can make chords the same way on the white keys! Pick a root and find the third and fifth by counting up (to the right). Instant chords! So now that I got that stuck in your head, let's try making a new melody to put in there! Watch the first part of the video below, then |
After you've made a beat, try adding effects to it by clicking here! Find the sound you like the best! Email your recorded beats to [email protected] Please include your name! |
Share your beat!
Really proud of the beat you made? Let me know you'd like to share when you send it and I'll post it below. Please indicate if you'd prefer I use your name or mark it as "Anonymous" (no name). You can of course send it to just me and not share it too!

Some Beat Knowledge:
Tempo = The speed of the beat. We usually measure it in BPM (Beats per minute). 60 BPM is the same speed as a clocking ticking away seconds. 120 BPM is twice as fast.
