Planning and taking a hike is great way to see new areas of our majestic island, while connecting with nature and those closest to you. Life during the Covid-19 pandemic can be a strange and frustrating experience. For some it has meant staying at home and trying to figure out all sorts on new ways to engage in otherwise regularly daily activities. For some, it means trying to accomplish goals for self and others that create unparalleled challenges and all sorts of new, unique ways of doing things. Sometimes it all feels like too much! For my amazing wife, Lizzie- a registered nurse- days off work, away from the hospital, have a particular significance these days. As we live in the city and notice that daily traffic along our regular walking route has increased we felt the urge to get out of "town" and visit an area we both had never been. A short drive brought us to East Sooke Regional Park. This wonderful park has a variety of areas and trails designed to offer people of varying abilities a chance to enjoy nature.
