Ok, who hid the flour just when I kneaded to make bread?
Wait! I thought this was a NO knead bread recipe. Oh right, you're very observant. The process looks more like this: I found this recipe on the West Shore Parks and Recreation site. They've created a calendar with a lot of fun activities. Explore more of their great ideas here: www.westshorerecreation.ca/programs/contests/ Homemade Skillet Bread Recipe Equipment: 1 Glass mixing bowl 1 Spatula 1 Mixing spoon 1 Skillet (greased) Ingredients: 13 oz Water 1 1/2 tsp Salt 1 1/4 tsp Yeast 3 ½ c Flour Method: Warm the bowl in the microwave for 1 min. Add 13 oz water. Add salt. Add yeast Add flour Stir until combined with the handle end of a wooden spoon. Cover with a warm damp dish towel and let rise for 1 1/2 hrs (maybe 2 hrs) in the oven with the oven light on and oven door closed (this makes it warm and encourages the dough to rise). Take out and give the dough a light stir to de-gas and stretch the dough. Pre-heat oven to 400F. Pour dough into the greased skillet. Cover and let rise for 30 min – 1 hr. Sprinkle a little flour on top or sesame seeds or brush with melted butter – your choice. Bake for 40 min. until golden brown. When you've mastered bread, why not try these cinnamon buns?
